I got my insurance license in the summer of 1995 while finishing grad school, running the college bar, training for my second-degree black belt, and working weekends at a local store. I was 23 years old and didn’t know what I didn’t know.
Within six months, I was running our college internship program. Within a few years, I was making MDRT, writing 100+ lives a year, and building an investment business from scratch. I earned my CLU, ChFC, and passed the CFP exam before I turned 30. I recruited over a hundred people into the profession. I was speaking at NAIFA events across the country. I was doing everything right.
Then life happened.
I’ll spare you the details — you have your own version of this story. The point is that when I needed to rebuild, I didn’t have to start from zero. I had a system. The same system I’d been using, refining, and teaching for 30+ years. A system built on one principle that changed everything for me in 1995 and still works today:
